Water Element – Resistant to Change

Cypress oil relates to the Metal and Water Elements of Chinese Medicine. It has the properties of moving Qi (Energy). The Metal element is related to the Po – the Corporeal Soul in Chinese Medicine – Cypress oil helps dealing with remorse, having a positive outlook and going with the flow. Water is about the flow and movement, that is needed in dealing with change.

Juniper also relates to the Water and Metal elements.  The Water element relates to the Kidney Energy – Will Power (Zhi) is housed by the Kidney. Juniper particularly acts on the Zhi – Will. It is said to deconstruct mental stagnation, and consolidate the Will.
